Joint Research Meeting
September 24th, 2024
Kobayashi Lab and Yasui Lab held a joint research meeting.
This was the first time both laboratories have conducted an overnight research meeting since the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 19 participants took part.
During the facility tour, we visited the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry (CRIEPI) at Yokosuka, a base for energy industry technology research.
After a 30-minute bus ride from Zushi Station, we arrived at a spacious and clean place amidst the sea breeze.
We had the opportunity to tour facilities related to nuclear and thermal power, and attended a lecture on hydrogen power generation.
From the presentations by the enthusiastic researchers and the explanations during the facility visit,
We were able to grasp the importance of energy and various ongoing initiatives.
The large-scale research facility provided us with invaluable experiences that cannot be learned solely at the university, making it a very meaningful occasion.
We would like to thank everyone at CRIEPI for their efforts.

On the second day of the research meeting, Shun KANAGAWA an alumnus of Tokyo Tech and an employee of CRIEPI, gave a presentation related to his current research and work.
He shared that his internship during university was at CRIEPI, and how the research from that time has contributed to his current achievements.
Everyone listened attentively to his talk.
After presentations by Profs. Kobayashi and Yasui, we engaged in Q&A and open discussions, allowing us to conclude this research meeting with significant outcomes.
